I actually went to that waterfall a couple of years ago in winter, it&#039;s in the Shiretoko nature park - although they have the name slightly wrong in the article, it should be Furepe no taki. It&#039;s also known as Otome no namida, the Maiden&#039;s Tears. The area is beautiful and quite accessible even in midwinter on snow shoes (although you will need a guide).

In answer to your question, Kirt, the waterfall is in a small bay and there are a couple of viewing platforms where you can see the whole thing from. My guess would be that the photographer was shooting from there..</description>
